AI logo generators that are really free October 2026

Free downloads, watermarks and business rights, read on the pages of 17 AI logo makers. Some let you design a logo free, then charge to download it.
Checked by hand on 16 October 2026, on each company’s own pages. All 62 quotes re-checked 22h ago and still there.

The short answer
If you read nothing else, read this.
- Free download with SVG: Wix Logo Maker (now Wixel) and Namecheap give you PNG and SVG files free, as often as you like. Both need a free account.
- Other free downloads: Canva (PNG, JPG or PDF), LOGO.com (4 high-res PNGs for one logo), Adobe Express (a 500 x 500 px file), Ideogram (a 1K PNG or a JPEG) and Shopify Logo Maker (file types not listed).
- Watermarks: only Namecheap promises none. Canva puts one on Pro elements, so use free ones. Zoviz marks its free previews, and LogoAI says its previews may have one. The rest do not say.
- Free to design, pay to download: Looka ($35), Turbologo ($19.99), Logomaster.ai ($39) and Zoviz ($29 a month) let you make a logo free, but charge for the files. Looka's $35 buys one low-res file; SVG starts at $72.
- Pay once or every month: Looka, Brandmark, Turbologo and Logomaster.ai charge once. Zoviz, LogoAI and Tailor Brands sell subscriptions, but Zoviz says you can pay for one month, download and cancel. Turbologo's one payment gives 3 months to edit and download.
- Business use and trademarks: Recraft owns logos made on its free plan, and Microsoft Designer is for personal use only. A logo from a Canva template cannot be registered as a trademark, and Designs.ai's licence does not let you register what you make.
- Renamed or gone: Hatchful is now Shopify Logo Maker, and its old address leads there. Wix Logo Maker now runs on Wixel. Designs.ai's Logomaker is gone: its address leads to an AI Branding tool.
I read the pages of 17 logo makers. Designing is free. The file often is not.

Wix's logo maker now runs on Wixel. Downloads and manual edits use no credits; AI logos and AI edits do: 120 a month on free, at most 30 a day, which Wix puts at up to 20 logos. You do not need to pay to download; paid plans add credits. Wix says its icons and fonts are licensed for business use, but says nothing about trademarks. The old Wix Logo Maker is still there, and sells high quality files per logo.

You can design without an account; downloading needs a free Namecheap account. Namecheap has no separate licence for Logo Maker, but its pages show business uses such as merchandise and marketing, and its trademark guide talks about registering a logo made with it. Its FAQ says it cannot help with copyright or trademark questions.
In their own words(4, checked 5 Oct)

“Logo Maker never adds watermarks to logos, so every design showcases your brand without any distractions.”

Canva's AI logo generator starts from a written prompt; then you sign up or log in. Free accounts get up to 20 AI uses, shared by all its AI tools. A transparent background and SVG need a paid plan, and Pro elements carry a watermark until you pay. A logo from its templates or stock graphics cannot be a trademark: only logos built from Canva's fonts, simple lines and shapes, or your own artwork can be. For AI logos, Canva warns the logo may not be only yours.
In their own words(4, checked 5 Oct)
“Save it as a PNG logo, JPEG or even PDF file for printing.”
“If you’re a free user, you’ll see a watermark on Pro content.”
“Yes, you can use the designs generated with Canva AI, for any purpose, including personal or commercial projects, as long as you follow our AI Product Terms and Terms of Use.”

The free plan saves and edits one logo. Its pages disagree on vector files: the plans page lists the free files as PNG only and puts 42 SVG and AI files in the Brand Plan, while its homepage FAQ says SVG downloads are free too. The Brand Plan is $15 a month, or $11.25 a month billed yearly. Some designs are premium. Its FAQ says you own the logo as a whole, not its icons and fonts.

Hatchful's old address now leads here, to a page that does not mention Hatchful. The page lists no file types, sizes or watermark rules, and does not say if you need an account; it shows an email field, with a note that you agree to receive marketing emails. Shopify says the results are made by AI and should be checked before you use them. It gives no trademark advice.
In their own words(3, checked 5 Oct)
“100%. Unlike other logo generators, Shopify’s online logo maker is a completely free tool to help you create your own logo.”
“The logo you design with Shopify’s logo creator is 100% free and yours to own.”
“After you’ve completed personalizing your cool logo, you’re ready to download your logo for your business.”

- $9.99 a month
The logo downloads as a square, 500 by 500 pixels. Adobe says to pick PNG or PDF for a transparent background or a file you can make bigger, and does not mention SVG. Its pricing table shows commercial use, and PNG with a transparent background, on the free plan. Adobe does not say if you must sign in to download. Its trademark rules sit in a help center that blocked our reader. Premium is $9.99 a month with no yearly commitment, and has a 30-day free trial.
In their own words(4, checked 5 Oct)
“Customize your logo even further in the online editor or download your new logo for free.”
“Our logo downloads as a square 500px by 500px file.”

- 30 credits a week
A general AI image maker with a guide for logos, not a logo kit. Free credits go only to accounts that sign in with Google, Apple or Microsoft. On free, everything you make is public. Its pricing FAQ says you may use images for business, but its logo guide says to check its terms first. Larger downloads need a paid plan, and Ideogram says it offers no free trials or discounts on subscriptions.
In their own words(4, checked 16 Oct)
“A 1K PNG is free on every plan; larger sizes need a paid plan.”
“Ordinary image downloads offer raster formats such as JPEG, PNG and WEBP. If an available app creates an SVG asset, that asset has its own SVG download”
“We do not claim ownership of your generated images, and you're free to use them for any purpose, including commercial use.”
“Free accounts get 30 credits each week if they sign in with Google, Apple or Microsoft. Accounts created with an email and password don't get free credits; they can buy credits or subscribe.”
Free download, but not for business
You can download a logo free, but the free plan does not cover a business. Recraft owns free logos, Microsoft Designer is for personal use, and Tailor Brands sells the rights.

- Watermark
- Not stated
- Files
- PNG, JPG, SVG, Lottie
- Commercial use
- No, Recraft owns them
- Paid
- $10 a month, billed yearly

- Yes, in its gallery
Free SVG logos, with a big catch: Recraft owns what you make on free, shows it in its public gallery and does not let you use it for business. Ownership and business rights start with a paid plan, and cover only images made while you pay. Its pages describe the free limit two ways: up to 30 images a day on its logo page, 3 per style a day on its pricing page.
In their own words(4, checked 5 Oct)
“Yes, you can download and save the logos created by the AI logo generator for free.”
“Logos can be exported in formats like PNG, JPG, SVG, or Lottie.”
“Images generated on the Free plan are owned by Recraft. They are publicly visible in the community gallery and are not licensed for commercial use.”
“$10 per month billed annually $120”

- Microsoft account
Not for a business logo: Microsoft licenses Designer for personal, non-commercial use, and aims its AI brand kits at groups such as a book club or a family reunion. Its FAQ does not list file types or sizes, or how many free AI uses you get, and does not say if a paid plan allows business use. A subscription may be needed if you create often.
In their own words(4, checked 5 Oct)
“Yes, Designer is free to use. A subscription may be required for those who want to create more frequently.”
“With this feature, you can use AI to create brand kits that include a personal logo, brand voice, font and colors.”
“Download your results as is or select Save brand.”
“Designer is licensed for personal, non-commercial use with your Microsoft account.”
Tailor Brands
- Free download
- Low-res sample only
- Watermark
- Not stated
- Files
- High-res and vector paid
- Commercial use
- Rights need a paid plan
- Paid
- Shown only in its app
- Trademark
- A separate paid service
Tailor Brands does not publish its logo prices: you see them in its app, next to your logo. Plans bill monthly, yearly or "bi-yearly". Basic gives high-res JPG and PNG files; a vector EPS file starts with Standard. Its help center says you can cancel right after buying and keep the files you downloaded. No page says if the free file has a watermark.
In their own words(4, checked 5 Oct)
“You can make a logo for free and download a low-resolution version.”
“However, if you want a high-res Vector file, you will need to pay.”
“To fully own the rights to your logo and unlock access to additional branding features, we offer a range of subscription plans: Basic, Standard, and Premium.”
“Once you make a logo (and purchase) it’s 100% yours to do as you please.”
Free to design, pay to download
Design and preview free. The files cost money: paid once on Looka, Turbologo and Logomaster.ai, every month on Zoviz.

- Commercial use
- After you buy
- Paid
- $35 once
- Sign-up
- Not needed to design
Designing, editing and saving logos is free; saving needs a free account. The $35 Basic package is one file, 1000 by 1000 pixels, on a colored background. SVG and EPS files start with the $72 Premium package, and the Brand Kit subscription is $96 a year. You own the logo as a whole, not the symbols and fonts from Looka's library. Its help center still shows older, lower prices; we follow the pricing page.
In their own words(4, checked 5 Oct)
“It's free to make logos in the logo maker, but if you want to download and use your new logo, you'll have to purchase one of our packages.”
“Basic Logo Package One low-res file $35 One-Time Purchase”
“If you need higher-res files, the Premium Logo-Only Package and all of the Brand Kit subscriptions include vector files (SVG and EPS), which are infinitely scalable and easy to send to printers and designers.”
“Premium Logo Package Multiple logo file types $72 One-Time Purchase”
Turbologo

- Files
- Low-res for $19.99
- Commercial use
- After you buy
- Paid
- $19.99 once
- Access
- 3 months to edit and download
- Trademark
- Not with a library icon
Each package is one payment for a set time: Lite is $19.99 for 3 months of access, or $29.99 for a year. When that time ends, editing and downloads close, but files you saved stay on your device. Lite is one image 1000 px wide, on its original background; SVG and PDF start with the Standard package. Its help center calls the packages subscriptions, but the pricing page says you pay once, with no repeat charge. A logo that uses one of its library icons cannot be registered as a trademark as it is.
In their own words(4, checked 5 Oct)
“Pay only when you're ready to download HD files.”
“Lite One logo file in low resolution for a digital use $19 .99 $29 .99”
“Is this a one-time payment? Yes. It's a one-time payment and not recurring.”
“3 month access”
Logomaster.ai
- Free download
- No, pay to download
- Files
- PNG for $39, vector $99
- Commercial use
- After you buy
- Paid
- $39 once
Paying to download gives you the right to use it for business. The $39 Basic package has high-resolution PNG files, about 4096 px, on white and transparent backgrounds, but no vector files and no changes after you buy. Vector files start with Premium at $99. You own the logo as a whole, not its parts, and Logomaster suggests a legal check before use. It does not say if you need an account, or if previews have a watermark.
In their own words(4, checked 5 Oct)
“Creating a logo is free.”
“However, there is a fee associated with downloading the logo files, which grants you a commercial license.”
“BASIC USD 39 ONE-TIME FEE”
“PREMIUM USD 99 ONE-TIME FEE”
Zoviz

- $29 a month
A subscription, $29 a month or $199 a year, but Zoviz says you can pay for one month, download what you need and cancel. Its logo maker FAQ still mentions a Basic and a Full package, so check at checkout. You get a refund within 30 days only if you have not downloaded files or used AI credits. Zoviz shows prices by location; we read the US-dollar ones.
In their own words(4, checked 5 Oct)
“You only pay when you're ready to download your final designs.”
“The free preview includes a watermark.”
“If you only need a logo, you can subscribe for one month, finalize your logo, download everything you need, and cancel anytime.”
“Starter Perfect for solopreneurs and small projects $29 / per month”

Brandmark says you can make unlimited logos free, with no account. Its pages do not say if you can download one free: logo files start at $35, paid once, and full copyright for business use is listed as part of buying. The Designer package is $95 and Enterprise $195, also paid once. We found no public help center; support is by email.

Its FAQ answers "Can I create and download a logo for free?" without a yes: free previews may have a watermark, and unrestricted downloads need a paid plan. Exports include SVG, but SVG and high-res exports can use credits. LogoAI promises business use only on paid plans, and says even then it cannot promise the logo is only yours, or that you can register it as a trademark. The $10 trial lasts 7 days, then renews at $20 a month unless you cancel.
In their own words(3, checked 5 Oct)
“You can try logo generation with the available free allowance after signing in.”
“Free previews may have a watermark, and unrestricted downloads require paid access.”
“The trial renews at $20 per month with 500 AI credits per month unless you cancel before the trial ends.”

Its separate Logomaker is gone: the old address leads to an AI Branding tool that builds a brand kit with a logo. Its price page now lists only paid plans, from $9.90 a month, and no page we could read says what a free account gets, or if free logos can be downloaded or have a watermark. Its licence says you may not register what you make as a trademark, a big limit for a logo. Paid plans come with its Standard licence, which allows business use.

Questions
What is the best free AI logo generator?
For a free file you can use for business, Wix Logo Maker (now Wixel): PNG, JPG and SVG with a transparent background, as often as you like. Namecheap also gives free PNG and SVG files and says it never adds watermarks. To make a logo from a written prompt, Canva's AI logo generator is free with an account and downloads PNG, JPG or PDF.
Which free logo maker has no watermark?
Namecheap says it never adds watermarks, and its PNG and SVG downloads are free. Canva puts a watermark only on Pro elements, so a logo made with free elements has none. Zoviz puts one on its free previews, and LogoAI says its previews may have one. Wix, Adobe Express, LOGO.com, Shopify, Ideogram and Recraft do not say.
Is there a free AI logo generator with no sign-up?
None of the 17 says you can download a logo without an account. Namecheap, Looka and Brandmark let you design without one. Then Namecheap needs a free account to download, and Looka needs one to save and a purchase to download. Wix, Canva, Ideogram, Recraft, Microsoft Designer, Tailor Brands and LogoAI need an account to make a logo.
Can I use a free AI logo for my business, or trademark it?
Wix, Canva, Shopify and Ideogram say yes to business use on free, and Namecheap's pages show business uses. Adobe Express and LOGO.com mark it as included in their price tables. Recraft owns logos made free, and Microsoft Designer is for personal use only. Trademarks are harder: a logo from a Canva template cannot be registered, Designs.ai's licence does not allow it, and Turbologo says a logo with one of its library icons cannot be registered as it is.
Is Looka free?
Designing is free: you can make, edit and save as many logos as you like. Downloading is not. The cheapest package is $35, paid once, for one low-res file, 1000 by 1000 pixels, on a colored background. SVG and EPS files start at $72, also paid once, and the Brand Kit subscription is $96 a year.
What happened to Hatchful and Wix Logo Maker?
Hatchful's old address now leads to Shopify Logo Maker. Shopify calls it completely free and says the logo is yours to own. Wix Logo Maker now runs on Wixel, Wix's AI design platform, which lets you download PNG, JPG and SVG files free. Wix says the old Wix Logo Maker is still there, and sells high quality files per logo.
How we checked
Every fact here comes from the company’s own page, with the sentence it is in. The facts checked for this guide show the day we read them. The tables come from our catalogue, which re-reads each price page on its own. When a page does not say something, we write that, and we never guess. How we check
